OL' BETSY

Ol’ Betsy is the mode of transportation utilized by Jake. The car is old, beat-up and rusted, and is laden with mechanical problems. Regardless, it is cherished by Jake as it is his first car. Unfortunately, since Jake lacks any mechanical skills, the car proves to be more costly than the initial price sticker suggested. Nick does not have a car of his own and so occasionally borrows it from Jake, whereupon he immediately questions whether it actually makes things more convenient for him. The reader will ultimately find the car possesses as much personality as a standard character.
